About QCC

Queer Community Club (QCC) is an experimental club concept and creative community space by and for queer and LGBTQ+ people. We exist to build solidarity through creative processes, to break down hierarchies between artists and participants, and to become a place for exploring the personal expression of gender, sexuality, art and freedom.

Together we detach ourselves from norms and conventions: Allowing us to think freely, think differently, think with our bodies, dance however the music tells us to and to go where our intuition leads us.

Safety ambition

We are building a space where queer people can feel safe and comfortable being and expressing themselves, without the stress of constantly being observed. This means that we have a no-photo policy, and zero tolerance for any form of discrimination or bigotry towards sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, functional ability, body, age, ethnicity, life philosophy or religion. Respect others. Unwanted comments, touching, excessive staring or stalking without the person’s consent will not be tolerated and will lead to permanent ejection.

House rules

We expect that all participants have made themselves familiar with our rules and guidelines for making sure that QCC is an inclusive space. Anyone who breaks these rules will be asked to leave and escorted out of the event.

NO QUEER SAFARI. QCC is a space for people identifying as queer or LGBTQ+, and we ask everybody to be mindful about that. We expect that all participants contribute to the freedom and liberation of this community space. We do not forbid allies to enter, but we ask everybody who enters that do not belong to our target group to be aware of the space you are entering, how you are contributing to the space, and how much room you will be taking up. We expect that everyone makes an effort with their outfit and their expression of self.

Photography / filming is prohibited. This is to create a space where we can express ourselves without the fear of being observed or outed. The hosts might document our artist’s performances, in which case we will ensure that nobody that hasn’t given their consent is in the photo / video being taken.

Be mindful of and respect other people’s pronouns, ask instead of assuming.

We do not tolerate any form of -isms or discrimination : racism, homophobia, transphobia, biphobia, misogyny, ableism, classism, body shaming or colourism or any other -isms is not welcome. Unwanted comments related to sexual orientation, gender, gender identity, gender expression, functional ability, body, age, ethnicity, fetishization, outlook or religion will not be tolerated. Be aware that identity and discrimination is intersectional, we all have unique experiences and privilege.

QCC’s events are body- and (ideally, but not yet implemented) sex positive. Show respect towards other people’s bodies and boundaries. Staring, stalking or unwanted physical or verbal contract without the person’s consent is not allowed. Only yes means yes. No always means no.

We want our community to take part in building and shaping QCC into a safe(r) space – but for that to happen we must work together and take care of each other. If you experience any form of discrimination, uncomfortable situation or witness others who are not following any of our house rules, we ask you to contact one of QCC’s hosts or our dedicated awareness team.
