Brødskive newsletter February 2025

The days are already becoming longer, the year is finally kicking into gear, and post-christmas and zero sunlight depression is slowly starting to lift. I have lots of plans for February, so if you want some enriching experiences in the coming month, I’ve got you covered! There is even an opportunity to attend for free, for a few select lucky people!

Giveaway! Free tickets!

I’m currently running a campaign for free tickets for both Oasis at the 1st of February and Love After Dark the 14th of February.

There is:

  • One free ticket for “OASIS – come and taste us // The drag show at Salt art & music”
  • Two free tickets for “🌹 BLOSSOM PRESENTS: LOVE AFTER DARK 🌹”.

It’s super easy to participate. All you need to do is:

  1. Subscribe to my newsletter.
  2. Confirm your subscription through your e-mail inbox
  3. Send a message through the contact form. State which show you would like to receive tickets for.

And that’s it! Winners will be chosen at random, and will be announced for Oasis on Friday 31st of January, and for Love After Dark on Friday 7th of February.

Saturday 1st of February

At Open drag stage’s “OASIS – come and taste us // The drag show at Salt art & music”, Brødskive will premiere their completely new act for 2025, “Love, Strife and Pride”.

Vision, hearing, touch, taste, smell. Which sense do you want us to stimulate?

NEW! Ladybug, one of the artists participating in this year’s Melodi Grand Prix will perform her completely new song “Hot as Hell in Paradise” at our Oasis show!

In ‘Oasis,’ you will meet eight exceptional and talented drag artists:

Ayama Star (IG: ayamastarofficial)
Brødskive (IG: @broedskive, HP: https://broedskive.com/ )
Eliza Fierce (IG: @elizafierce)
Karaoke Karl (IG: @karaokekarlogco)
Lavender Menace (IG: @lavender_menace_drag)
Joshua Taylor (IG: @joshtaylorpoledance)
Nabi Yeon Geisha (IG: @nabiyeongeisha)

The eighth artist is something entirely unique. Meet Raga the Queen – a mythical, non-binary figure brought to life by puppeteer Varun (IG: @varunpuppeteer). As the evening’s host, Raga will guide us through the show with a unique perspective on gender and identity, while the artists on stage create an experience that actively engages all the senses.

14th of February – Valentine’s Day

The second showing of “Love, Strife and Pride” will be at “🌹 BLOSSOM PRESENTS: LOVE AFTER DARK 🌹”, Haus of Blossom’s new Valentine’s show. Haus of Blossom has been burning the midnight oil the last year, and has produced many shows to get a lot of experience in a short amount of time. This is the second year in a row they will do a Valentine’s show, so I guess it’s become a tradition? I can’t think of a better way to celebrate Valentine’s than attending Haus of Blossom’s show.

Love After Dark is the portrayal of what happens behind closed doors. Queer love has been forced to be hidden throughout the years, and even though it’s better now, a lot of queer individuals still have to hide their love and affection.

This show is an homage to everyone who had to hide the most beautiful thing on earth – love. ❤️

22nd of February – Oslo Drag Festival Kick Off Party

The lineup for this year’s Oslo Drag Festival is finally ready! After carefully going through all the amazing submissions in the Open Call and both the program committee and the festival leaders figuring out how to solve this solitaire, it is now ready to be announced!

And best of all? The event is completely free!

This is the place where you get updates from me, directly to your e-mail inbox, without all the fuss of social media.

Until next time.
