Brødskive newsletter January 2025

A new year brings new opportunities. This spring sees the premiere of Brødskive’s new act, “Love, Strife and Pride”, which delves into themes of Love and Strife and other related dichotomies, and how they as a queer person unpack and sort our shared heritage in the pursuit of living a good life. What is Love and what is Strife? What even is a good life, and what can we do to live our life to the fullest?

Wednesday 8th of January – the day after tomorrow!

If you didn’t catch Eliza and me’s Abjectified – Birth show this November, you can get a new chance at seeing our brand new disgusting BIRTH act made just for the occasion, this wednesday at Goldie, completely for free!

Oslo Dragskole, driven by Elektra Puzzz, is throwing a kick-off event launching all the spring’s courses. So if you are interested in learning how to be deliciously disgusting, or learning other things about drag or drag performance, come by and get to know us, ask questions and have a great time. Goldie is a super cozy venue where we can chill down after the intimate show.

Saturday 1st of February

At Open drag stage’s “OASIS – come and taste us // The drag show at Salt art & music”, Brødskive will premiere their completely new act for 2025, “Love Strife and Pride”.

In addition to this, many other amazing performance artists will show their interpretations of how to stimulate the audience’s different senses. The sense of taste is used heavily in the promo, because that’s a sense that can be a bit underutilized as an aesthetic experience, at least in the drag context, but the theme of the show includes all senses, even the ones that might be a bit out of the box.

14th of February – Valentine’s Day

The second showing of “Love, Strife and Pride” will be at “🌹 BLOSSOM PRESENTS: LOVE AFTER DARK 🌹”, Haus of Blossom’s new Valentine’s show. Haus of Blossom has been burning the midnight oil the last year, and has produced many shows to get a lot of experience in a short amount of time. This is the second year in a row they will do a Valentine’s show, so I guess it’s become a tradition? I can’t think of a better way to celebrate Valentine’s than attending Haus of Blossom’s show.

Love After Dark is the portrayal of what happens behind closed doors. Queer love has been forced to be hidden throughout the years, and even though it’s better now, a lot of queer individuals still have to hide their love and affection.

This show is an homage to everyone who had to hide the most beautiful thing on earth – love. ❤️

This is the place where you get updates from me, directly to your e-mail inbox, without all the fuss of social media.

Until next time.
